911 Caller Charged in Deaths in Mobile Home Massacre

A man who called 911 after reportedly finding his relatives dead in their mobile home in the Brunswick, GA New Hope Plantation mobile home park has been charged in their deaths. Seven were dead at the scene, and Michael Toler died later at the hospital.

Guy Heinze, Jr., 22, called 911 early Aug. 29, saying it appeared the victims had been beaten to death. He screamed to operators, "My whole family's dead!"

While not originally a murder suspect, hours after the call, Heinze was charged with evidence tampering, lying to police and drug possession. The dead include his father, Guy Heinze Sr., 45; his uncle, Rusty Toler Sr., 44; and his aunt, Brenda Gail Falagan, 49. Also slain were Toler Sr.'s four children — Chrissy Toler, 22; Russell D. Toler Jr., 20; Michael Toler, 19; Michelle Toler, 15, and Joseph L. West, 30.

The sole survivor is 3-year-old Byron Jimmerson Jr., the son of Chrissy Toler. West was her boyfriend.

Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said two new pieces of information caused authorities to charge Heinze with the murders late Friday. He declined to say whether police believe Heinze acted alone.

"Right now, I don't know. I do know he's involved... I would have not allowed him to be arrested if I was not comfortable with that. It's the most heinous crime we've ever had in this community."

Chrissy Toler's boyfriend, Joseph L. West, 30, was also killed. Byron is her son.
