SLU Night with the Cardinals

Thursday September 16th was "SLU Night with the Cardinals" at Busch Stadium.  Many of the Athletic Training students enjoyed the festivities!  Attending college in a city like St. Louis gives our students many exciting opportunities like this one.

SLU ATEP Visits Busch Stadium

Faculty and students in the SLU ATEP had the opportunity to visit the St. Louis Cardinal facilities at Busch Stadium on Tuesday, April 27th.  Cardinals Athletic Trainers Barry Weinberg and Adam Olsen served as our hosts on a very interesting field trip. They gave us valuable insight into life as a major league baseball athletic trainer.

St. Louis abuzz with the All-Star Game festivities

Having the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis is a great opportunity for a fan of any baseball team who lives in St. Louis! It is not just a game on a Tuesday night, its a weeklong showcase for the city! The Sheryl Crow concert under the Arch on Saturday night, the Celebrity and Futures Game on Sunday, the Home Run Derby on Monday, and the All-Star Game itself on Tuesday...even the rain can't ruin a good time!

Busch Stadium is decked out!

Great Day at the Ballpark!

On Wednesday, April 22nd, students from our program received a "behind the scenes" tour of Busch Stadium.

The tour was hosted by St. Louis Cardinals Athletic Trainers Greg Hauck and Barry Weinberg. They gave us an extensive tour of the Cardinals Club House, Weight Room, Athletic Training Room and the Dugout.

They also gave our students important insight into life as a professional sports athletic trainer. As you can see in the pictures, it was a beautiful day, and we all had a great time!

The Cards beat the Mets that night 5-2.

Busch Stadium is also hosting the MLB All-Star Game this summer.
