Marijuana Ban Ruled Unconstitutional in Argentina

To Americans, who can't seem to agree on medical marijuana use, which has been shown to improve quality of life for sufferers of many diseases, this should come as a shock. Argentina's supreme court has ruled not just that marijuana use should be legal, but that any prohibition on personal use is unconstitutional.

The court added, however, use must not harm others and did not advocate a complete decriminalization of marijuana. What it did say was:

"Each adult is free to make lifestyle decisions without the intervention of the state. Behavior in private is legal, as long as it doesn't constitute clear danger. The state cannot establish morality."

Naturally, the ruling restricts use to adults, and the use must be done in a private setting (no second-hand smoke!) without affecting third parties.

This ruling overturns convictions on eight adults who had been prosecuted for possession of marijuana.

John McCain Booed for Stating That Obama "Respects the Constitution of the United States"

On Tuesday, John McCain held a town hall forum in Arizona, an elderly woman asked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) whether President Obama knows "that we still live under a Constitution."

Perhaps this silver-haired maven needs to know that President Barack Obama was a Constitutional law professor at the University of Chicago Law School.

At any rate, McCain said, thankfully, “I’m sure that he does.” When he further added that Barack Obama “respects the Constitution of the United States,” the crowd broke out in loud boos. McCain went further, stating that there’s just a “fundamental difference in philosophy and about the role of government” and that “I am convinced the president is absolutely sincere in his beliefs." He closed by saying “He is the president of the United States and let’s be respectful.” Watch it:

Grassley Constituent Compares Obama to Hitler

Charles Grassley is palling around with (domestic) terrorists! That's an idea that could be spread if one were to take the following to heart, and spread it around, but that's a conservative tactic.

Yesterday, Charles Grassley held a town hall in Pocahontas, IA. Tom Eisenhower, a World War II veteran, stood up and said:
"The president of the United States, that's who you should be concerned about. Because he's acting like a little Hitler. I'd take a gun to Washington if enough of you would go with me."
Technically, a threat against the President? No matter what you think of Barack Obama, that's domestic terrorism.

Why did I say Grassley is palling around with them? Well, reports don't seem to indicate Grassley told the guy he was off-base with such a threat. He should have, and many are asking why this guy hasn't been picked up by the Secret Service, at least in a precautionary manner.

At the same time, it's interesting how people keep calling Congressional leaders and Barack Obama both socialists and fascists. Recently Sen. Arlen Spector (D-PA) was told he was a "socialist, fascist pig" for example. Anyone who knows anything about socialism and fascism knows that they are mutually exclusive.

That's why Hitler hated the U.S.S.R., in fact.

Additionally, health care reform has nothing to do with fascism. And finally, let's not forget the still used Islamo-fascist term. Once again, Islam and fascism are mutually exclusive.

The name-calling comes because it's easy to call names. It's harder to be informed and speak calmly and with some real information, such as the fact that 2007 UNICEF statistics show Cuba with a lower infant mortality rate than the U.S., and the same lifespan, based on their Universal Health Care. Meanwhile, the U.K. and Canada both surpass the U.S. in both categories.

Is the Mystery Woman Who Helped Ryan Jenkins Elude Capture Paulina Chmielecka?

How did Ryan Jenkins managed to elude authorities in Canada for so long? He had help, and British Columbia police have identified the woman. Although they have not revealed her ID, TMZ reported the woman to be Paulina Chmielecka.

According to TMZ, they showed pictures of Paulina Chmielecka to Kevin Walker, the manager of the motel where Ryan Jenkins hung himself. The two had been in a 3-year relationship until earlier this year. The manager said he was 100% sure that the woman who helped Jenkins get the motel room was Chmielecka.

Walker said Sunday that a woman checked in on Thursday, saying she needed a room for at least three days and paid cash through Sunday. Meanwhile, a man waited in a PT Cruiser with Alberta license plates outside.

What's interesting is TMZ is reporting that representatives for Paulina Chmielecka are saying that "There's no way it can be her because on Friday she was doing a fashion show and Saturday she was filming a cooking show." I'm not sure how being somewhere on Friday and Saturday have anything to do with Thursday.

TMZ also reports, however, that police have also said that Paulina Chmielecka is not the woman they are interested in. At any rate, anyone who helped Ryan Jenkins, who was on the run after allegedly murdering his ex-wife, Jasmine Fiore, could face charges of accessory to murder after the fact.
