Colorado DOT Worker Faces Discipline Over Obama Shoeshine Boy Email

A Colorado Department of Transportation worker faces discipline over an e-mail of Obama as shoeshine boy, and Sarah Palin as the recipient of the shoeshine. The email, originally sent from outside the CDOT and distributed by the worker using his official email, said, "It appears he (Obama) has found his niche" and contained the above obviously doctored image.

The sender of the email is a 73 year-old CDOT supervisor. While the name of the sender has not been released, reports indicate it is a woman, and that she is a registered Democrat who works as a program assistant. She supervises one other person and is a step above an administrative assistant.

The employee involved forwarded the e-mail to co-workers as well as outside email addresses on Dec. 22. Someone outside the CDOT who received a copy of the e-mail, with the CDOT e-mail address attached, complained to agency officials about it on Tuesday.

Mindy Crane, spokeswoman for the CDOT, noted that, politics aside, "state resources cannot be used for personal use, and that includes internet, computers, and email."

"It's certainly an inappropriate email to begin with, but its the fact too that it's being sent on state time and using state resources and for that we find that very unacceptable. It's very disappointing for us that employees are taking advantage of those resources available to them."

The worker, a 29-year veteran of state government who earns $51,684 a year, could face discipline ranging from a written reprimand to a suspension or firing, Crane said.

Escaped Convict Taunts UK Police Via Facebook

Craig "Lazie" Lynch, 28, escaped from the minimum-security Hollesley Bay Prison near the village of Woodbridge in southern England three months ago. Since then, he's been mocking police via Facebook, and he's also managed to gain a huge number of Facebook "fans." His Facebook photo isn't exactly family-friendly, so I had to modify it some, by the way.

In fact, Lynch has 27,000 fans at the time of this writing. Strangely, a number of posts from his fans seem positive, although a few chime in every now and then to remind people they are "cheering for" a felon. Lynch had been serving a seven-year sentence for committing a burglary with a weapon.

Meanwhile, police have appealed to his Facebook fans to help track him down. How well that's going to work is unclear. Reportedly, when the authorities first made their entreaties to his fans, he only had about 3,800. Now he has the aforementioned over 27,000. In fact, according to his Facebook page, the company deleted his first page, when it had 4,000 fans. Now he has a new one and 27,000 fans.

Strange how the U.K. authorities can't close in on him via his IP address. With Facebook's help, they should be able to catch him. His latest post is further taunting, noting he was on the news being interviewed, via the phone.

Ted Nugent: Obama a Communist, Should Be Jailed

Ted Nugent is a die-hard Republican, but as such he certainly isn't a fan of Barack Obama's. He also obviously too big a fan of history or dictionaries either.

He told Royal Flush magazine, that "I think that Barack Hussein Obama should be put in jail. It is clear that Barack Hussein Obama is a communist. (Former Chinese leader) Mao Tse Tung lives and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. This country should be ashamed. I wanna throw up."

Of course, Barack Obama is by no means a communist. The definition of communist is in fact:

"Communism is a social structure in which classes are abolished and property is commonly controlled, as well as an ideology and social movement that advocates and aims to create such a society."

Those on Main Street should be angry at this statement. It is obvious from the bailout of Wall Street (a process, we should recall, that was initiated by the Bush Administration) that the class system is alive and well in America.

As Barack Obama has made no changes in regards to Wall Street, this is obviously a misinformed statement. No, Ted Nugent is definitely off base. The class system is functioning on all cylinders. He himself in is the "privileged but ignorant" class.

Colorado Ski Resort Legalizes Marijuana

A Colorado ski resort is already being dubbed the "the Amsterdam of the Rockies" after legalizing marijuana in the mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado. The law goes into effect on January 1, 2010.

Breckenridge should remember that Amsterdam has far more than marijuana available without penalty; hopefully they aren't looking at a "red light district," too.

Breckenridge voted last month to relax marijuana laws. Once the new laws go into effect, there will be no criminal or civil penalties for anyone carrying up to an ounce of marijuana. Apparatus (ahem) associated with pot, such as a bong will also be penalty-free.

However, the town of Breckenridge is not without caution. No skiing while stoned is still the rule, under a separate ordinance, and anyone found either using marijuana or skiing while under the influence will be severely punished. That includes, naturally, other types of intoxicants, such as alcohol.

Breckenridge is the second town in the U.S. to decriminalize marijuana. The other is another Colorado city, Denver. However, Breckenridge is the first in America to remove penalties for paraphernalia.

Still, it will remain illegal to buy, sell or grow pot and also to display or use it in public. That means that there will be no Amsterdam-style "coffee shops."

As marijuana is still banned under federal and state law, it is possible that authorities could crack down on its use in Breckenridge, but the Obama administration has already stated that as long as local and state ordinances are followed, it will not step in. It appears, also, that the state will not crack down either.

On Christmas Eve, Salvation Army Worker Killed In Front Of His Children

'Tis the season for the Salvation Army to try to get as many donations as possible, in those old familiar red kettles. Sadly, on Christmas Eve, no less, a Salvation Army worker was shot and killed in front of his three young children by a man who was attempting to rob him. The incident took place outside the charity's community center in North Little Rock, Arkansas, a Salvation Army official said Friday.

Police said that they are looking for the two men who accosted Salvation Army Maj. Philip Wise, 40, outside the community center about 4 PM Thursday. So far, no arrests have been made.

Wise had gone to the community center with his children to pick up his wife, Cindy, who is also a Salvation Army major. They were to drive to his mother's home in West Virginia. As he neared the side door, two men approached him, carrying handguns.

One of the men demanded money and shot Wise. Cindy Wise, inside the center, called 911. The Wises had just adopted their children last year. They are aged 4, 6 and 8, and are siblings who came from an abusive family.

Wise was originally from Weirton, West Virgina, and his wife, Cindy, was from Charleston, West Virginia. They met 16 years ago at a Salvation Army school in Atlanta. Both had worked for the Salvation Army ever since.

Woman Knocks Over Pope Benedict XVI At Christmas Eve Mass

In a bizarre incident, a woman knocked over Pope Benedict XVI at the Christmas Eve mass tonight. Nearly more unusual is the fact that while the pope was knocked down, video captured it.

A cell phone camera was one of many being used to capture images of the pontiff. As the pope was knocked down, video of the woman's act was caught. The woman, apparently unstable, jumped the barriers and knocked him down on his way to the altar.

The 82-year-old pope quickly got up and was unhurt. Footage aired on Italy's RAI state TV showed a woman dressed in a red hooded sweatshirt leaping over the wooden barriers and rushing toward the pope before being swarmed by bodyguards. Video shot by a witness showed the woman grabbing the pontiff's vestments as she was taken down, with Benedict apparently falling on top of her.

The Christmas eve mass had been moved up two hours to 2100 GMT or 10 PM, to ease the strain on the Pope during the busy Christmas season. Vatican spokespeople dispelled the rumors that the pope was ill.

Not Eating Dinner? Call 911

Prosecutors in Kerrville, TX plann to review the case of a woman that authorities claim has called 911 30 times over six months for non-emergency reasons. One of those, according to authorities, was to complain that her husband refused to eat his dinner.

Police say Elsa Benson, 53, has a long history of abusing 911, as well as public intoxication. She is now in jail with bond set at $1,000 bond.

Last Friday, Benson allegedly made a pair of calls to 911, including a hang-up and another where a woman was heard screaming.

Police were dispatched to the residence, as would typically happen with such a hang-up. Officer Paul Gonzales said she told police that "her husband did not want to eat his supper." A police report said the 53-year-old woman was also yelling "about things that happened two weeks ago."

SLO Residents Angry Over Art Showing Jesus Shooting Santa With Shotgun

This is an interesting protest against the commercialization of Christmas. A California man, tired of the obvious over-commercialization of the holiday, has fashioned holiday art that other residents of San Luis Obisbo call offensive, not art.

Ron Lake has created a statue of Jesus holding a double-barreled shotgun. That's not all. He's pointing the shotgun at a figure of a dead Santa on the ground. Meanwhile, there's also good old Rudolph splayed across the hood of a pickup truck.

Ron Lake says he hopes the display forces parents to explain the true meaning of Christmas to their children. Some of his fellow citizens haven't taken too kindly to the display: they've asked police to force him to take it down. Police say the cannot as no crime has been committed.

Glenn Beck Named "Misinformer Of The Year"

Media Matters has unveiled its choice for 2009's Misinformer of the Year, and it's Fox News' Glenn Beck.

Here's how the watchdog group described how easy their choice was:

When he wasn't calling the president a racist, portraying progressive leaders as vampires who can only be stopped by "driv[ing] a stake through the heart of the bloodsuckers," or pushing the legitimacy of seceding from the country, Beck obsessively compared Democrats in Washington to Nazis and fascists and "the early days of Adolf Hitler." He wondered, "Is this where we're headed," while showing images of Hitler, Stalin, and Lenin; decoded the secret language of Marxists; and compared the government to "heroin pushers" who were "using smiley-faced fascism to grow the nanny state."

A couple of Glenn Beck's more ludicrous acts from 2009 include using Vicks to cry crocodile tears and saying Barack Obama has a "deep-seated" hatred of whites.

Roomba Riding Cat Lays Into Pit Bull

It's already funny enough to see a cat riding a Roomba, one of the robotic vacuum cleaners. However, this cat uses the Roomba to get the better of a pit bull. Or at least it seems that way.

Obviously, in reality these two are "roommates," meaning the pit bull probably wouldn't attack the cat. It's still hilarious to watch the cat ride around on the Roomba, swat the dog, and even peer into a trash can as he "drives by."

One has to ask, though, why the dog is wearing that wimpy shirt? That's probably why the cat is picking on him.

Plainclothes Cop Pulls Gun At Snowball Fight

It was a well-publicized snowball fight, but apparently not well enough publicized for one plainclothes police officer. Sort of a snowball version of a flash mob, when they hit his Hummer with snowballs, he eventually pulled his gun, though he pointed it as no one.

It happened during Washington D.C.'s record-breaking snowstorm on Saturday. A massive snowball fight was announced and was taking place at the corner of 14th and U streets.

Detective Haylor (sp?) pulled out his gun after both his car and car and he were pummeled with snowballs, several witnesses confirmed. Eventually, uniformed police were called about a man with a gun at the snowball fight, but when they arrived they discovered that the man was an undercover cop.

Authorities indicate the matter is under investigation. Watch a video of the "aftermath" in which the detective admits to pulling a gun, because he was "hit by snowballs."

GOP Seeks Divine Intervention To Defeat Health Insurance Reform

Rachel Maddow, on her Dec. 17, 2009 broadcast, highlighted the GOP's latest attempt to defeat health insurace reform: divine interverntion.  Participating in an online PrayerCast, Senators Jim DeMint (South Carolina) and Sam Brownback (Kansas) along with Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann joined a number of Christian leaders in praying that health care reform will be defeated.

During the PrayerCast, DeMint said:  "If we have the government making decisions about the most personal and private part of our lives, it's so naive to think that that coverage is not going to include a number of things that cause people of faith a lot of heartburn, whether it's funding abortions, whether it's rationing care, whether it's funding medical marijuana, whether it's euthanasia."

Maddow added that none of this is in the health insurance reform bill in the Senate. More to the point however, is the apparently ignored question: Who Would Jesus Insure? Would he keep the least of us uninsured and suffering, and even dying?

One of the commenters at Raw Story had an interesting question:

I don't understand..... somebody please explain to me WHY these peoples "God" would allow such heartache for the average American and condone the greed on Wallstreet and condone the greed, death and destruction of war while condemning abortion, and condone these government officials to speak in his name for profit over healthcare for babies already born. Somebody please explain this to me....

To this, there came an excellent response:

because if you pray hard enough, and lead a good Christian life, you won't get sick and need healthcare. If you do get sick, well obviously your a demon-possessed sinner. Or liberal. Or both.

Although that may seem simply sarcastic, it's actually true, at least from a Calvinist point of view.  If you are a good Christian, you won't suffer.  If you suffer, you deserve.  That's a very simplistic intepretation, but it's quite often the one the extreme right wing Conservative movement takes.

Police Release Dramatic Footage of Jan. I-90 AK-47 Shootout

Authorities have released dramatic video of an shootout that took place on I-90 in Connecticut in January. Darrel O. Brown, 23 and a member of the Bloods gang, is shown in the video from a police dashboard cam firing an AK-47 out the back window of a taxi.

Brown is thought to have been high on PCP at the time of the incident, as autopsy results showed the presence of PCP in his system. Although no police were injured, Brown was eventually shot several times and died at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

In fact, Brown was struck by three shotgun pellet, two .223 caliber rifle rounds fired by an East Greenbush police officer and one .308 caliber rifle round fired by a State Police sniper.

Five Ways to Weather Winter Sports
SLU Expert Offers Tips to Avoid Exercise Hazards

Winter weather doesn't have to derail your exercise routine, says a Saint Louis University exercise expert. As you adjust to darker days, colder temperatures and slippery surfaces, however, it's important to be mindful of safety issues that come with the territory of winter workouts.

Students get a workout during a snowball fight.

"A change in weather should bring a change to your mindset. As temperatures get colder, it's important for athletes to adjust their routines," says Tony Breitbach, Ph.D., director of athletic training education at Saint Louis University. "You need to have a winter sports strategy.

"If you plan well, you'll be able to keep up with your routine fairly easily. Being aware of winter's challenges is the best way to avoid injury."

Breitbach offers the following tips to avoid injury during winter months:

Watch what you wear

In mustering the will power you'll need to continue your workout in sub-zero weather, you'll make it easier if you dress for temperature extremes. Dress in layers for outside exercise. The layer closest to your skin should be made of breathable wicking material, avoiding cotton which retains sweat. Next, add a thermal layer of fleece or cotton to keep in heat, and use a third, outer layer as a cover. As you start to heat up you'll be able to peel off layers to manage your comfort level.

And, remember: your furthest extremities are the first to be affected by the cold, so watch for pain or tingling in your ears, fingers or toes as a signal that it's time to go inside to warm up.

Watch what you eat and drink

For many of us, the holidays bring temptations in the form of rich foods, holiday drinks and sugary desserts. If you over-indulge, you'll need to step up your workout just to maintain your current level of fitness.

Staying well-hydrated is another concern during cold winter months because of dry air and indoor heat. Drink plenty of fluids, though be sure to avoid caffeine and alcohol-based beverages which also lead to dehydration.

Watch for hazards

An after-work run in August is a chance to enjoy the long summer evenings of daylight. In winter, it's likely dark before you ever make it home from the office. Use caution when running after dark by wearing light-colored, reflective clothing so that drivers can see you.

Watch out for overuse

Because there are fewer exercise opportunities in winter, be careful to avoid over-doing it with one activity. Activities like running in the park, golfing and swimming may not be options in the winter; instead, you may find yourself working out on hard, unforgiving surfaces like gym floors or concrete, which can exacerbate over-use issues.

The bottom line? Think outside the gym. Be creative, trying ice-skating, cross-country skiing or a yoga class as your exercise.

Watch out for injuries

While you may be alert to obvious winter hazards, like icy sidewalks during a run, some more subtle dangers come from moving the game indoors.

If you play court sports like basketball and racquetball in winter months, for example, you may be sharing the space with more people, so be aware of the greater chance for falling or colliding.

Different activities require different shoes. Your summer running shoes don't work well on the basketball court. Be sure you switch to shoes with good traction to help avoid collisions and avoid ankle injuries.

Mary And Joseph In Bed Spark Anger In New Zealand

You may recall those 50's and 60's TV shows where husbands and wives had twin beds. Obviously, it was far too controversial to show them sharing a bed (Rob and Laura Petrie, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, anyone?). A billboard showing Joseph and Mary in bed together, meant to spark discussions on Christmas, has instead sparked outrage in New Zealand.

The billboard shows Joseph and Mary sharing a bed, looking somewhat sad, both shown semi-nude. The caption reads: "Poor Joseph. God is a hard act to follow."

The billboard was put up by the St. Matthew-in-the-City church. Archdeacon Glynn Cardy said the church meant to challenge a "fundamentalist interpretation of Christ's birth." "What we're trying to do is to get people to think more about what Christmas is all about. Is it about a spiritual male God sending down sperm so a child would be born, or is it about the power of love in our midst as seen in Jesus?"

The St Matthew-in-the-City church is Anglican. Cardy added that the split on love - hate was about 50 / 50. However, one person had threatened to tear down the billboard. They have not, as yet, received a huge number of input on the matter: so far only 20 emails and phone calls.

Perhaps agreeing with the one protester above, the Catholic church joined those against the billboard. They accused the Anglican church of disrespect, as a Catholic church spokesman, Lyndsay Freer, said "It's flying in the face of our 2,000-year-old beliefs."

Merry Christmas Is Arrested

It won't be a Merry Christmas for Merry Christmas. The 44-year-old woman, named Merry Christmas, has been arrested for obstruction of justice on Sunday night.

A female officer was attempting to interview a woman after being called to a disturbance in Boynton Beach, Florida. However, Merry Christmas began railing at the woman, and not shouting "Happy Holidays," either. Christmas began yelling and refused officers' commands to go inside.

According to the police report, the officer told Christmas to back off. When Christmas did not, the officer attempted to arrest her. Christmas, who was born on December 28, 1964, tried to pull away which forced the officer had to take her down.

Christmas was released with a notice to appear in court.

Former Madam Says Has 1099 For Tiger's Jamie Jungers

The news get worse and worse. The latest Tiger Woods update, for today, would include the following: one of is major sponsors, Accenture, has summarily dropped him. Jamie Jungers, mistress number 4, says that she and Tiger Woods had sex as his father lay dying. And finally, a former madam says she has a 1099 form for Jamie Jungers that proves she worked as an escort for her.

Accenture dropped Woods, saying that the company "has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising." Accenture frequently tried to link Tiger Woods' strengths and focus with its own.

Meanwhile, Jamie Jungers told "News of the World" that on the night that Tiger's father Earl Woods died, she and Tiger were together. He visited his dad in a hospice, then went home to see Jungers. Afterwards, as they lay in bed, with Jungers, as she said, "beside him wearing nothing but a pair of panties," Tiger received a call telling him Earl had passed away.

Finally, while Jungers has denied taking money from Woods or being an escort, onetime madam Michelle Braun begs to differ.

Jamie Jungers was asked about Braun when Jungers appeared on the "Today Show" last week, and she denied even knowing her name. However, a recently obtained 1099 form supports Braun's allegations. According to Braun, Jungers was part a group of escorts managed by her, with Jungers’ income, according to the form, equal to $31,400.

She's not the only Tiger Woods mistress that apparently worked for Braun. Porn star Holly Sampson also has a 1099 filed by Braun. According to that document, which was filed for the 2009 tax year, Braun paid Sampson $24,600.

Grinch Steals Rare Tree To Use For Christmas

It wasn't even a very good-looking Christmas tree. As described, this particular tree would not have the typical conical shape of a fir tree. Yet someone chopped down and stole an extremely tree from the University of Washington Botanical Gardens arboretum, because stealing it made it free.

The 7-foot Keteleeria evelyniana conifer was one of the park's rarest specimens. It is an endangered species collected from the mountainous Yunnan province in China. It was one of only two at the arboretum.

Randall Hitchin, manager of living collections for the University of Washington Botanical Gardens, which include the arboretum, nurtured the tree from the time it arrived as a seedling in 1998. He said, "It makes me want to cry. "A Keteleeria is something that even most arborists have never heard of. Or if they have, it's just a reference in a book. To have a specimen in the flesh is just a tremendous thing."

The victim tree was located in the park's northeast corner, which may have made it an easy mark. One can only hope that Santa remembers this thief was "bad" and give him nothing, or perhaps that his family will notice that their tree is unusual, and turn him in, or at least give him a lump of coal.

Major Online Retailer Offers Products With Veiled Threats Against Obama

Zazzle, a website that allows users to customize not just products for themselves, but products to sell to others, is selling t-shirts and bumper stickers with racist comments and veiled death threats against President Barack Obama.

Zazzle vendors are like those at CafePress. They can upload their own content and create their own products that they can purchase for themselves or be sold by Zazzle.

The majority of the products that were first found by RightWingWatch and are the work of a single Zazzle designer named NOBAMAMAN. Obviously an anti-Obama activist, his products include such lines as "Abort Obama," "Send Barack Obama Shooting With Cheney," and more.

Now, Zazzle has deals with both the Walt Disney Company and the Library of Congress allowing them to use their imagery on their customized products. Perhaps they need to re-think that.

It should be added that the Zazzle FAQ on "Acceptable Content Guidelines" says the following (among others):

• No content that is libelous or defamatory
• No content that can reasonably be viewed as harassing, threatening, or otherwise harmful
• No hate speech
• No content that can reasonably be viewed as discriminatory based upon race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability
• No content that violates or encourages anyone else to violate any law

Based on this, this guy should be banned, permanently from Zazzle. Why has he not? Certainly his content is "not acceptable" per their guidelines.

Coke Apologizes As Site Swears At Customer

Coca-Cola has apologized after a CAPTCHA code was given to a customer trying to register for the "Coke Zone." CAPTCHA codes are randomly generated and used by sites to ensure a "bot" is not trying to register an account or post a comment.

In the case of Alistair Beswick, the code offered to him was UF**CKER. Realistically, although he complained that he had to enter the code to register, he should have been able to generate a new code. That is always a possibility for any CAPTCHA code.

He said, "I understand it was randomly generated, but you'd think Coke would have some measures in place to stop four-letter words like that appearing."

A spokesperson for Coca-Cola said the company would work to ensure such automated SANFUs wouldn't happen again. A spokesman said: "We apologize for any offense caused to the individual and thank them for bringing this to our attention.

"Unfortunately this has occurred due to an automated selection of random letters but we are taking immediate action to ensure this will not happen again."

Tiger Woods Quits Golf Indefinitely

There were many who said that Tiger Woods would definitely eclipse the record of major golf titles held by Jack Nicklaus, as long as he maintained focus. Of course, they were speaking of golf, not mistresses. That record may be safe for some time to come, as Tiger Woods announced on Friday he is quitting golf indefinitely.

As more, and more, and more women came forth claiming an affair with the superstar golfer, the damage to his marriage, and also his commercial deals and sponsorships was escalating day by day. However, while he probably cannot stem the tide of women coming forward to tell their story, he said in an official statement on his web site that he is quitting golf to focus on his marriage and family.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin, have been married five years. They have a 2-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son. The announcement comes exactly two weeks after a car accident at 2:25 AM on November 27th started a roller-coaster ride of innuendo, rumor, and sordid affairs.

It is true also that Woods has become the PGA's whipping boy, with many other golfers (not just Jesper Parnevik, who introduced Woods to his wife), critical of the revelations. However, many reports indicate that on the PGA tour, Tiger's "antics" were no secret.

The break from golf will prevent the possibility, at least for now, of Tiger Woods being booed when he reappears at a professional golf tournament. The question is: will he ever return again?

Las Vegas Woods Mistress Claims Heartbreak Was All She Got From Tiger

In the latest Tiger Woods update, mistress number 4, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress and lingerie model named Jamie Jungers, 26, appeared on the "Today Show." In her exclusive interview, Jungers denied rumors that she had compensated in any way by the superstar golfer, whose good guy image has taken a severe pounding since revelations of his numerous affairs have arisen. It is not unlike the pounding his SUV apparently took at the hands of his wife, Elin Woods and a golf club.

Jungers went so far as to say that she never even received a birthday card from Tiger Woods. She and Woods began their 1 1/2 year association when she was 21, and it turned into a boyfriend / girlfriend relationship, she said.

“I didn’t even get a birthday card. I got nothing out of this relationship but a broken heart.”

She was particularly pointed about the headline that showed up in Tuesday's New York Post, that said "Mistress: Tiger Paid Me," about her. "All of it, is completely false," she said. Jamie Jungers said she specifically appeared on the "Today Show" to clear the air and correct all the false rumors.

Interestingly, it all began as a one-night stand. Jungers expected it to end there, but the next day, he called. “He said he loved spending time with me, would love to get to know me more, and he gave me his phone number and told me to save it in a different name in case I lost the phone.”

Meredith Vieira asked Jamie Jungers about Michelle Braun. She is a madam that has clamed Woods spent up to $40,000 a weekend for the services of her call girls, and that Jungers herself was on her payroll, though not involved as a call girl for Tiger. Braun said that Jungers told her that Woods had given her money.

“That’s all funny — I never even heard of the woman’s name. Never in my life. I’ve never been an escort and I never will be an escort. This is all news to me.

Despite all this, she added, however, that there would always be a a place in her heart for Tiger Woods. Obviously, from her current age and the age when the two had their affair, Jungers has been holding her tongue for a long time.

Fall Semester Wrapping Up Briskly

Athletic training student Kellie Black made a presentation today in MAT 565: Research in Athletic Training on "NSAID Use in Athletes".

Fall classes have wrapped up and finals are underway for our students.  The cold spell in the midwest has made it easy to stay inside and prepare for exams.  Fortunately we have avoiding the heavy snowfall in the upper midwest and western Missouri.  But since many of our students live in those areas we hope all of them travel home safely.

We are excited for a restful holiday break and look forward hopefully to the spring.  Spring activities include the final stages of program accreditation and the graduation of our first Master of Athletic Training class.

EMTs Transport Elin Nordegren's Mother From Tiger's House to Hospital

Overnight, yet another 911 call to the Windemere, FL house of Tiger Woods, as emergency crews transported a blonde, middle-aged woman to the very same hospital that Tiger Woods went to on Black Friday, when his "transgressions" began to become public. The woman has since been identified, and is said to be Barbro Holmberg, the mother of Elin Nordegren Woods, Tiger's wife, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Paraedics reached the home at 2:37 AM and stayed until 3:13 AM when an ambulance from Health Central Hospital arrived to transport the victim. Holmberg is still be being evaluated at the time of this writing, though initial reports on her condition were rather dire, with "advanced life support" mentioned. She was admitted suffering from stomach pain, reports say.

Meanwhile, a woman resembling Elin Nordegren, was seen at the hospital driving a black Cadillac Escalade. The license plate number on the Escalade seen at the hospital Tuesday was one digit off the license of the Escalade that was damaged two weeks ago. It should be noted that GM has lent Tiger Woods vehicles in the past.

Since the Black Friday incident, it's been one incident after another, with the sheer number of women coming out of the "woodwork" (pun intended) nearly too much to keep track of. The latest newss with regards to Elin Nordegren is that she has moved out. Another report stated that she has purchased a $2.29 million house on an island near Stockholm, according to the Daily Express newspaper in London.

Tiger, Elin Prove Fodder For SNL Tiger Woods Skits

With revelations of four, five, six (more?) mistresses and images of Elin Woods chasing Tiger down the driveway with a golf club (whether or not it actually happened), one couldn't expect a lack of SNL Tiger Woods skits, could one? No, one couldn't.

Saturday Night Live skewered the golf superstar with a hilarious Tiger Woods SNL skit revolving around a strange series of accidents. However, one problem that was brought up by some, was that the skits seemed to focus on potential domestic violence on the part of Elin Woods against Tiger, and some felt that was insensitive to musical guest, Rihanna. Rihanna had her own domestic violence issue with Chris Brown, you might recall.

In the Tiger Woods SNL skit, actor Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s “Situation Room” (portrayed by Jason Sudeikis) reported on a news conference that Tiger Woods (played by Kenan Thompson) and his wife (played by Blake Lively) were holding outside their home. After Woods admitted to “multiple” transgressions, Elin Woods looked surprised at the word "multiple" and the screen shifted quickly back to Blitzer for "breaking news."

“This just in. Tiger Woods is back in the hospital. Apparently just hours after a press conference where he confessed to multiple transgressions, Woods had an accident in his home where he fell down a flight of stairs, then inadvertently threw himself through a plate glass window.”

At that point, Blitzer went back to Tiger for another news conference. Tiger said, while Elin Woods stood next to him holding a golf club. “Wow, I’ve been really clumsy this week.” Of course, after Tiger received a cell phone call, he was mysteriously hit by his own car.

Palin Left Hawaii Because Of Too Many Asians: Father

In the New Yorker review of "Going Rogue," Sam Tanenhaus writes a paragraph that exposes something that should gather a lot of attention in a country where whites are becoming the minority. Apparently in her travels to various colleges, Sarah Palin's stint at the University of Hawaii was ended not by poor grades or distractions, but by too many Asian faces.

In "Going Rogue," Palin wrote of her Hawaii experience “Hawaii was a little too perfect. Perpetual sunshine isn’t necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls.”

In the much less publicized "Sarah From Alaska," by Scott Conroy and Shushannah Walshe, the authors were told something completely different by Sarah Palin's father, Chuck Heath:

According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.” In any case, Palin reports that she much preferred her last stop, the University of Idaho, “because it was much like Alaska yet still ‘Outside.’ ”

The New Republic has the Palin question of the day: "Why--and readers should weigh in--has this gotten absolutely no media attention?"

Zhu Zhu Pets Toxic: Safety Group

California consumer safety group Good Guide has done testing on some of this year's hottest holiday toys, and Zhu Zhu Pets, perhaps the hottest toy of the season, have been found to contain quantities of toxic materials. Shades of the Chinese toy scandals from just two years ago.

Good Guide independently tests products for the presence of toxic chemicals. It said Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters tested positive for higher than acceptable levels of the metals antimony and tin. Zhu Zhu Pets, however, are so popular that they remain sold out at many retailers.

Antimony poisoning is very similar to arsenic poisoning. It can cause headache, dizziness, and depression in small doses. Larger doses can cause violent and frequent vomiting, and eventual death. Tin is also a heavy metal and can cause similar symptoms and poisoning.

Zhu Zhu Pets are manufactured in China (where else?) and distributed by Cepia in the U.S. Good Guide assigned the toy a rating of 5.2 on a 10-point scale. Cepia defended the safety of Zhu Zhu pets in a statement.
