Last night, Roseanne Cash promoted the cause of closing Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on The Colbert Report. Last week, a group of international musicians that included Trent Reznor, Jackson Browne, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, and others joined the National Campaign to Close Guantanamo. The musicians also filed Freedom of Information Act (GOIA) requests seeking to declassify all secret government records pertaining to how music was used in detainee interrogations in Guantanamo, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
Rosanne Cash visited The Colbert Report last night, where she made her point: using music as torture is wrong. Thus, she successfully got the faux conservative host to sign a petition calling for the closing of the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
