Apparently this is not unheard of, because there is even a term for a pregnant woman who becomes pregnant again. Superfetation is conception while already pregnant.
Superfetation is very rare among humans. In fact, it is so rare, that there is no prevalence or incidence. The medical literature, in fact, according to experts, shows only 10 cases among humans.
While the cases of a pregnant woman becoming pregnant again are rare, apparently it's not uncommon among animais. This is because in certain animal species, sometimes implantation of the embryo implanting in the uterine wall is delayed. Thus, menstrual cycles can continue and superfetation can occur.
The question now must be asked: how will this superfetation case work out? Since the two fetuses are only 2 1/2 weeks apart, there's a decent likelihood that this case will work out favorably. Interestingly, one of the babies will be born in 2009, and the other will be born in 2010!
