Taylor Swift's VMA Win Ruined by Kanye West

It's live TV, isn't it? Tonight at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Taylor Swift won her first VMA for best female video. However, just as Swift began her acceptance speech, Kanye West broke in and interrupted, ruining the moment.

Kanye West, apparently disappointed at Taylor Swift's win, ripped the mike out of her hands just as she started accepting the VMA. As she stood there startled, he said "Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!"

MTV, never missing a chance, cut to Beyonce, who was (appropriately) slack-jawed at Kanye West's interruption of Taylor Swift. West gave her the microphone back to Swift and walked offstage, but the damage was done.

While the audience booed Kanye West, MTV VMA producers, realizing how out of control things had gotten, cut to a taped video clip of "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan and rapper Eminem. Meanwhile Taylor Swift tried to continue her VMA acceptance speech, but couldn't be heard as her mike had been cut off.

Giving up, Taylor Swift walked offstage. Although nothing can compare with a GOP representative (Joe Wilson) interrupting the President, this is pretty darned rude. MTV, you ought to blacklist Kayne West from any future VMA shows.
