Another example of gang violence, but one horrifically caught on tape. Sadder, the beating victim had no gang affiliation. High School students from Fenger High School have to take this to heart. Derrion Albert, 16, was beaten to death as a sort of "collateral damage" in an incident involving two rival gangs.
No knives and no guns were used in last Thursday's fight. Just fists, feet and boards, and Derrion Albert was struck in the head by one of those boards. He hit the pavement, and at that point, witnesses say gang members began stomping on and punching him.
Albert was an honor student and had no gang affiliation, as I said. Now, he is a sad statistic.
Police have video footage, but no faces are shown, and thus they have released the video in hopes someone can ID Derrion Albert's assailants, or rather, murderers.
