A 22-year-old upstate New York man has been accused of hanging his girlfriend's four-month-old kitten with a belt. Fortunately for prosecutors, he made a videotape of it.Joanne Cichy told Syracuse police she couldn't find her kitten when she returned home after trick-or-treating with her children on Halloween night. WHat she did find, the next day, was a video on her digital camera showing the kitten hanging from the apartment door with a belt around its neck.
The video showed Cichy's live-in boyfriend, Rascell Williams, going in and out of the camera shot, as the kitten struggled and eventually went motionless. However, it did not die, and was later found alive under the porch.
Williams has been charged with unjustifiable animal cruelty. Is there such as thing as justifiable animal cruelty? Perhaps for Williams, there is.
