Teacher Pays Student $1,500 for Sex

Oh, those crazy people in Utah. A former Helper (UT) Junior High School teacher not only had sex with a 15-year-old male student, it was apparently so good she paid him between $1,400 and $1,500 after the encounters according to court documents.

Melissa Ann Andreini, 28, was charged last Monday in 7th District Court with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Sept.28tg before Judge Douglas Thomas in Price, UT. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison on each count.

The victim's mother (I know, I know, he's a victim, but with $1,500 in his pocket, it's harder to say that) confronted Melissa Andreini at her home on July 3rd. The teacher admitted not just the sex but also the payments of between $1,400 to $1,500, all told.

According to the boy, Andreini paid him the cash after three separate sexual encounters at her home in June. The encounters started during the 2008-09 school year.

It's unclear if the money was for sex or for hush money, to keep the boy quiet. Andreini was booked into the Carbon County jail last week, but was released after posting $10,000 bail.
